We dream of a school that will truly be a Children’s Centre with a homely atmosphere where the children can truly enjoy, availability of toys, playground, flowers, decorations, equal opportunities to all to develop their unique talents, providing a teacher who is not a dictator, but a learning facilitator and a friend, where assessment is continuous and child-friendly, community which shall be seen as a source of knowledge, expertise and support, where environment is Print-rich with wide variety of graded reading materials that are age- appropriate and related to the child’s own context and surroundings, to encourage an interest in reading. TLMs are used for language learning, science and mathematics, where hands-on exploratory activities for science leaning are promoted and social science and art education are given their due.

School Libraries

A School Library has books, pictorials, newspapers, journals, magazines, reference books, biographies, autobiographies, dictionaries, encyclopedias, audiovisual material, etc. as well as access to information technology and digital resources. The child-friendly components in the light of Padhe Bharat Badhe Bharat ( PBBB), such as Reading and Activity Corner, Poem Corner, Message Boards, Folk Stories, etc are to be taken into account while including books and other reading material for the library. Besides, books (textbooks as well as reference books and supplementary reading material based on Learning Outcomes) on all subjects from early grade to Senior Secondary level. Library is an essential component of the school, providing not only resource for learning, but also for strengthening the idea of reading for pleasure, recreation and further deepening of knowledge and imagination. school Libraries also help in the improvement in the learning outcomes of our students.

SPORTS AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION

India in the last few years has made steady progress is the field of sports education. This tremendous potential needs to be show caused at a global platform. It is the time we inspire youth talent give them to infrastructure and training of the highest level. We head to inculcate a strong spirit of participation in sports and physical education that enables players to demonstrate the pure potential. Only then can India realise its dream of becoming a sport super power. The “Khele-India-Khile-India” sports and physical education programme has been introduced to revive the sports culture among students at the gross root level by building a strong frame work for all sports played in our country and establish India as a great sporting leve The importance of sports and physical education in one’s life is invaluable. Playing sports inculcates team spirit, develop strategic and analytical thinking, leadership skill, goal setting and risk taking. A fit and healthy individual leader to an equally healthy society and strong nation. Sports is an extremely important component for the overall development of our nation.Sports and physical education is the best cure for children to lead a healthy life style.

Learning Enhancement Programme (LEP)/Remedial Teaching

Students are provided suitable assistance and guidance in accordance with their abilities and learning needs to develop their potential to the maximum extent. Approaches such as remedial teaching and bridge courses have been developed and used at the elementary level and more progressive approaches such as Learning Enhancement Programme (LEP) are implemented to address the challenges at all levels, with the main objective of identifying the learning gaps and equipping students with the core learning pre-requisites appropriate for the particular grade. Teacher support material, supplementary reading material (work books, worksheets,etc) is to be provided to the students of Classes I-XII taking into account the child centric assumptions in NCF- 2005 and the RTE Act, 2009. Such learning support would help students who lag far behind their counterparts in school performance. Moreover Print-rich environment is created in order to encourage reading as a lifelong habit which in turn improves the learning outcomes.

Youth & ECO Clubs

Youth clubs: youth clubs in schools are an instrument to develop life skills, build self- esteem, develop self-confidence and resilience and counter negative emotions of stress, shame and fear. This would also improve enrolment as well as retention. This is covered under PGI indicator No. 1.2.5 & 1.2. Youth Clubs to utilize idle school resources like

Eco clubs: eco clubs in schools will empower students to participate and take up meaningfulenvironmental activities and projects. It is a forum through which students can reach out to influence, engage their parents and neighborhood communities to promote soundenvironmental behavior. It will empower students to explore environmental concepts and actions beyond the confines of a syllabus or curriculum. Eco clubs will carry out activities related to water conservation and creating awareness on water conservation, especially during the period of Jal Shakti Abhiyan campaign.
